Who is the Emily Carr Parent Advisory Council (PAC)? It's all of us!
According to the School Act, the PAC, through its elected officers, may advise the school board, principal and staff of the school regarding any matter relating to the education of the students and the school. As parent volunteers, we’re committed to working together with Carr families and school staff to connect with our school community and support a positive school experience for our children. The PAC works with the school to fundraise, run special events, and advocate when necessary.

If your child attends Emily Carr, then you're already part of the PAC!
The PAC supports the school community. It is run solely by parent volunteers.
How does the PAC operate?
Parents are encouraged to attend our monthly meetings. During these meetings, updates are given, initiatives are discussed, funds are reviewed, and votes are held to decide where PAC funds and time are directed.
There are many ways to get involved! Have your opinion heard, volunteer to help, share your knowledge or resources, or lead organization efforts with the PAC executive team.
What are PAC funds used for?
Past examples include:
starting up a Gr 6-7 band program, ukulele set
new bike racks, rainbow bench, outdoor classroom for the playground
Classroom enhancements like iPads, sensory room upgrade
Saleema Noon Body Science presentations, Teacher Lunch and Learn sessions
Welcome Back BBQ, Pedal Party, Carr-nival, popsicles on Sports Day
subsidizing Gr 7 camp and sports programs like Elevate Ultimate
And much, much more!
Fundraising is conducted in a variety of ways. Directly donating through School Cash Online to the Emily Carr PAC is an easy way to support the school. Most PAC-run events indirectly raise funds as well.
